As a result of Agfa's acquisition of GWI AG earlier this year, the companies have announced a new portfolio which brings together the IMPAX PACS application and ORBIS. The acquisition and releases that have followed are representative of Agfa's strategy to evolve into an end-to-end provider of integrated imaging and IT systems, Agfa said.
   
As part of the move, ORBIS RIS (Radiology Information System) with its newly developed NICE graphical user interface will be offered in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Simultaneously, the new ORBIS RIS and IMPAX integration has been announced. Key features of this integration are designed to give radiologists total access to all patient data though an EPR (Electronic Patient Record). The integrated product can be implemented with any IT system across an enterprise.
