CompuMed's OsteoGram available to SourceOne DR and CR customers
A new agreement permits SourceOne Healthcare Technologies Inc. to distribute CompuMed Inc.'s DICOM OsteoGram software.

The application can be added to existing computed radiography and digital radiography systems enabling users to perform bone mineral density screening for early detection and treatment of osteoporosis.

According to SourceOne, the technology gives its customers the ability to use a hand x-ray to precisely determine bone mineral density (BMD) as an indicator of osteoporosis and future fracture risk. The hand x-ray film is scanned at the healthcare provider's office with a standard desktop scanner, and the Automated OsteoGram® software analysis program instantly produces a BMD report comparable to tests performed on dedicated BMD testing equipment generally found in hospitals and specialty practices.

SourceOne will be exhibiting the new technology at the Radiological Society of North America meeting, Nov. 28 - Dec. 2, in Chicago.
