Contracts: Digisonics, Empiric Systems, NovaRad, Toshiba
Digisonics installed a DigiView network at Northwest Arkansas Heart & Vascular in Fayetteville, Ark., which includes multiple DigiNet Pro licenses for full web-based access capabilities to the entire cardiovascular image management and reporting system. Other recent installations include Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, Idaho, that installed the company’s DigiView Image Management and Reporting System for its echo lab. Great Lakes Heart and Vascular in St. Joseph, Mich., installed the DigiNet Pro and CRS-Net for full web-based access to their cardiovascular reporting system.


Empiric Systems recently received contracts for its Encompass.NET RIS solution from Prestige Imaging, LLC of Sarasota, Fla. and Palm Beach Radiology Institute, LLC of Palm Beach, Fla.


NovaRad Corporation completed NovaPACS contract agreements with six imaging centers and radiology groups, including: Fountain Imaging in Glendale, Ariz.; Bancroft Parkway Open MRI and Imaging Center in Wilmington, Del.; Orange City Imaging in Orange City, Fla.; Stephen W. Brown & Radiology Associates of Augusta, Ga.; Rad-Inc in Huntington, W.V., that will use NovaPACS to read for Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan, W. Va.; and Santa Clara Imaging Center, San Jose, Calif.
 
The contract with Stephen W. Brown & Radiology Associates was facilited by iPro, a NovaRad distributor.


Toshiba America Medical Systems announced that Shands at the University of Florida (UF) has installed an Aquilion 16 CT system.  The academic medical center is home to three units in the Aquilion series, including the 32 and 64 systems – all of which offer Toshiba’s Quantum Advantage, delivering the same slice thickness – 0.5mm isotropic slices and are suitable for general radiology, ER, interventional and cardiac applications.
