Emageon sees strong revenue but overall loss in 2005, in part due to Camtronics acquisition
Emageon Inc.’s financial results Q4 and year ended 2005 included with $24.3 million compared with $16.2 million in the Q4 of 2004, representing a 49 percent increase.  Gross margin percentage in Q4 2005 was 37 percent, compared to 30 percent in the same quarter 2004. 

On the down side, the company saw a net loss for Q4 2005 of $4.0 million, or $0.20 per share, compared to the net loss of $2.2 million in 2004. The increase in net loss is primarily attributable to costs and charges related to the acquisition of Camtronics Medical Systems Ltd., the company said. 

Revenue for the full year 2005 was $73.8 million, an increase of 61 percent over revenue of $45.8 million in 2004. Gross margin percentage in 2005 was 42 percent compared to 30 percent in 2004. However for the full year Emageon saw a net loss of $5.1 million, or $0.28 per share, an improvement over the net loss of $10.5 million in 2004.
