GAO: nearly 300 federal IT investments risky
The US Government Accountability Office has performed a study of federal IT-related expenditures as part of its Management Watch List. As a result, the agency has identified 263 federal projects on its list of projects as risky, being either poorly planned or executed. The projects represent about $10 billion in federal dollars. Seventy-nine of the projects — as a whole costing around $2.2 billion — have been pegged as having a performance shortfall by the agency. To read the report:
