GE Healthcare (formerly GE Medical Systems) says it will use remote diagnostics firm Questra's software to power the next generation of GE's InSite remote device monitoring and diagnostic services.

Questra intelligent device management (IDM) software supports monitoring, diagnostics, alarms/alerts, remote desktop control, software configuration management, and analytics on a real-time, 24x7 basis.

Questra President and CEO Jim Gagnard said the pact with GE will be the largest deployment of IDM software in the world.

Questra software is designed for tight security provisions that complement healthcare providers' existing network security infrastructure, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems. GE also will be able to provide medical imaging equipment with remote diagnostics that can be configured to comply with virtually any healthcare facility's IT network.
