GE releases new Centricity business management tools

GE Healthcare today announced the availability of its Centricity Business systems including Access Management Suite and Patient Financials Suite for hospitals and Integrated Delivery Network (IDNs) on an ASP model. The systems provide healthcare organizations a remotely hosted system that does not require the purchase of hardware and the technical support associated with maintaining information systems, GE said.

“As the adoption of information technologies in the healthcare industry continues to grow, so does the need for the vendors to provide Application Service Provider (ASP) solutions as a way for organizations to cost effectively utilize these solutions to provide high quality patient care,” said Jeff Kao, vice president and general manager for GE Healthcare. “Remotely hosting these solutions shifts the burden of technical support away from the organization allowing them to focus on their core competency—healthcare.”

GE will present its Centricity Business Access Management Suite and Patient Financials Suite during the 2006 Healthcare Financial Management Association Annual Conference in Orlando, Fla.
