How a MRI-like technology is aiding malaria diagnosis

Researchers from the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology have devised a way to diagnose malaria using magnetic resonance relaxometry, a similar technology to MRI.

The technique could reduce the human error present in current methods of diagnosis, and since it requires only a 0.5-tesla magnet, can be done with cheaper equipment than is required for MRI diagnostic imaging. Read more at the link below:
