IDC launches new DR system
Imaging Dynamics Company (IDC) introduced a new digital radiography system that is pending Food and Drug Administration approval at the annual meeting of the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators this week in Boston.

IDC's new Xplorer 1600 expands the company's product line of high resolution CCD (charged couple device) DR systems, including the Xplorer 1500 for upright exams and the Xplorer 1800.

IDC said the Xplorer 1600 is being marketed for use by imaging centers, outpatient clinics, and private practice offices. Based on a single CCD with 14-bit digitization, the detector provides an image acquisition matrix of 16 million pixels and produces image quality with a maximum spatial resolution of 4.6lp/mm.
