Healthcare IT systems provider Misys Healthcare Systems and healthcare software developer iMedica jointly announced an agreement, in which Misys will license iMedica’s EHR and practice management systems for a new family of physician offerings focused on small-size practices.

Initial products, such as application service provider service offerings, will be announced November of this year.

The partnership fulfills Misys’s previous announcement to focus its activities on ambulatory services, and to extend offerings to ambulatory market segments which are currently underserved and have high growth potential, according to the Raleigh, N.C.-based company. As part of the agreement, iMedica will act as a reseller of Misys’ Payerpath revenue cycle and transaction management services to its existing and future customers.
