Misys bulks up its EHR
Misys provided attendees at this week’s annual meeting of the American College of Cardiology in Atlanta with a glimpse of soon-to-be released functionality as part of the Misys EMR version 8.0. These new tools, to be released in May, include:
  • Advance Diagnosis Search which is based on common descriptive terms for a more real-world search approach that is likely to be more intuitive;
  • A Batch Discontinue Medications feature;
  • CCR Initiative for quick generation of reports that can be passed to any provider. The reports can be sent along on CD or other media and also allow patients or physicians to select the specific information they wish to send;
  • PACS Web Viewer – allows access to information that is stored in a PACS via the EHR interface;
  • E-Prescribing that enables interactive communication with local pharmacies;
  • Graphing – real-time tracking of dose calculations;
  • Olympus Endoscope Integration for importing endoscopy data into the system;
  • Patient photo; and
  • Welch Allyn Vital Signs Integration – made possible through a partnership with Welch Allyn, this tool helps nurses input vital data into the EHR very simply.
