NEC, Imprivata team for Single Sign On technology
Imprivata Inc. of Lexington, Mass. and NEC Solutions America Inc., an affiliate of NEC Corp., have joined forces to market and deliver an integrated system that uses finger point identification to enable enterprise single sign-on.

According to the terms of the agreement, NEC will offer a TouchPass-branded version of the OneSign ESSO applicant in the North American healthcare market. NEC TouchPass - Secure Single Sign-On - combines NEC's biometrics technology and Imprivata's OneSign ESSO.

The integrated biometric-enabled ESSO system allows multiple users to securely share the same workstation. From an IT perspective, the companies said the appliance's Application Profile Generator enables time savings by automatically learning and securing the user-authentication procedures of any Windows-based, client-server, mainframe or Java application.
