ComPACS has released ComPACS Version 9, a new suite of cardiovascular workflow tools providing support of legacy ultrasound systems. This version benefits Philips Sonos and Image Point users who will no longer need Philips' DICOM network upgrade. ComPACS V9 automatically imports image and report data from MODs into a fully DICOM SR-compliant database, the company said.

ComPACS V9 includes a number of components, such as a powerful DICOM viewer, with dynamically interpolated zoom, multiple format displays and one-touch side-by-side analysis of multiple exams; support of HL7, the Web and EMR connections on systems ranging from affordable workstations running on PCs to three classes of servers with advanced security and workflow features like integrated dictation and web viewing/reporting; user-friendly reporting with customizable generators and output documents for both echo and vascular studies and a novel integrated dictation option;  web viewing and reporting identical in look and function to their LAN counterparts; and V9 runs on PCs and is scalable offering affordable work stations and three classes of servers.
