New EHR benchmark study released
Market research group Medical Strategic Planning has released an analysis of U.S-based EHR developers and the technologies they provide. The analysis is based on information from the 12th Annual Andrew & Associates EHR Benchmark, and evaluates 104 of the 161 developers and catalogs over 210,000 EHR system features/attributes, according to the organization.

The analysis has been designed to delve deeper than the current CCHIT standards, and includes: HL7, CCR, HIPAA and other safety and quality standards, and catalogs EHR developer claims regarding thousands of EHR features essential to medical specialties, software application compatibility, hardware compatibility, EHR approach (voice and handwriting recognition, document scanning and pick-list approaches), wireless infrastructure and other capabilities.
