New QA tools from Cardinal Health
The Radiation Management Services division of Cardinal Health Inc. unveils three new quality assurance (QA) instruments for diagnostic imaging systems.

The systems include the AEC-6 system, Mamchex and Radchex. Each can be used for the calibration and daily automatic exposure control QA.

The AEC-6 System cassettes' circuitry analyzes the light output from the intensifying screen and converts the light into a digital electrical signal that is fed to an onboard microprocessor for analysis, says the company. The microprocessor then sends information via the interface box to a computer or Personal Data Assistant (PDA) for software analysis, using mathematical algorithms that convert the microprocessor information to optical density (OD) outputs.

The AEC-6, Mamchex and Radchex Systems are intended for service engineers, medical physicists, and technologists.
