New tool available to assess EHRs
EMR Consultant, a web-based healthcare consulting firm with a proprietary method for guiding physicians and medical groups considering implementation of electronic medical records (EMR), has unveiled The Matrix, a new free tool that assists physicians and practice managers to better assess the EMR and EHR solutions on the market.

“We’re attempting to move EMR adoption along more rapidly by addressing it on two fronts at the same time. On the one hand, we’re challenging each EMR manufacturer to answer some 600 questions that will give physicians and hospital administrators, who are their potential customers, very specific details on their systems,” said Eric S. Fishman, MD, founder and president of EMR Consultant. “On the other hand, we’re supplying medical practices preparing to make the journey from being paper-driven with very specific EMR system information that will match most closely their stated requirements.”

The Matrix is available at EMRConsultant.com and is designed to provide physicians and medical administrators with a side-by-side color-coded comparison template that facilitates easy online navigation and more precise comparisons based on their individual needs.

The firm conducts research that enables practitioners to assess EMR software programs based on core functional capabilities, and has developed a proprietary method to facilitate a systematic and comprehensive evaluation of medical records software products.
