Philips ships new version of cardiac image management tool
Royal Philips Electronics has begun shipping the new version of its Xcelera multimodality cardiology image management, analysis and reporting solution.

The new Xcelera R2.2 is a secure centralized system that addresses efficiency and workflow challenges while helping caregivers manage examinations and procedures their patients undergo while receiving cardiac care, according to Philips.

The company said its Xcelera R2.2 offers support for imaging studies and data from cardiac subspecialties including cardiac catheterization and cardiovascular ultrasound, as well as nuclear cardiology, cardiac CT, cardiac MRI and electrophysiology. It also provides access to electrocardiograms (ECGs) from ECG management systems from multiple vendors, Philips said.

Additionally, Philips said its Xcelera R2.2 offers embedded support for AutoQuant Version 7.0 nuclear cardiology quantification package, which allows doctors to quickly analyze heart structure and function. The system is also compatible with existing and forthcoming versions of the Philips Qlab suite of ultrasound quantification tools.
