Planar has announced that it will bundle Matrox Graphics Inc. MED4mp medical display controller boards with its FDA 510(k) approved Dome E4c 4-megapixel color displays.

A bezel-less, high-bright diagnostic display, the Dome E4c is designed for use throughout the healthcare enterprise, and includes a wide-screen, 16:9 format designed to simplify comparison studies by eliminating image split caused by the bezel of a dual-head monitor and by offering more screen space to show multiple images. The monitors have the ability to show 15 full size 512 x 512 images at the same time, and have 4MP resolution. 

Paired with the Matrox MED4mp including the hardware pivot feature, the Dome E4c may be configured in either landscape or portrait mode. Multiple Dome E4c displays at a single station are also possible by installing multiple Matrox MED4mp boards in the same PC, driving up to four E4c displays from the same system. In addition to supporting the Dome E4c panel, each MED4mp board also may support an analog display up to 2 MP, offering further multi-display configuration options, according to the companies.
