Swedish mammography and PACS provider Sectra this week at RSNA debuted a new screening device for women that combines the company's low-dose mammography system with its osteoporosis testing technology.

The digital Sectra MicroDose Mammography system has been integrated with the Sectra Digital X-ray Radiogrammetry (DXR) technology. This combination allows a hand x-ray for osteoporosis testing to be acquired during a mammography exam.

The Digital X-ray Radiogrammetry unit has gained FDA clearance, but the MicroDose unit has not.
