Sectra receives FDA OK on breast imaging workstation
The FDA has cleared Sectra Imtec AB's workstation for breast imaging.

Clinical tests of the breast imaging workstation were performed at the Elizabeth Wende Breast Clinic in Rochester, N.Y. The center handles more than 70,000 mammography examinations annually with full-field digital mammography systems, MRI and ultrasound.

The FDA-cleared workstation is part of Sectra's IDS5 workstation line and the company's picture archiving and communications system (PACS) for breast imaging, which processes and archives all digital images used in mammography.

The workstation will support computer-aided detection (CAD) from R2 Technology Inc.
