Siemens introduces new mobile C-arm system
Siemens Medical Solutions introduced a new mobile C-arm system called the Arcadis Varic at last week's annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

The new C-arm system recently received FDA 510(k) clearance.

Siemens says the device delivers up to 65 percent more imaging power in a compact and lightweight design. With Siemens' syngo technology integrated into the Arcadis Varis, surgical staff can access clinical patient information online, including multi-modality viewing for CT and MR.

The C-arm also is equipped with a fully digital 1024 x 1024 image matrix that functions throughout the entire imaging chain, from image acquisition to image processing and documentation.

Siemens describes the Arcadis Varis as a mid-range system, and will continue to sell its lower-priced Siremobil Compact L C-arm.
