Siemens to show lithotripsy technology
Siemens Medical Solutions will show new applications for its lithotripsy systems at the annual meeting of the American Lithotripsy Society in San Diego, starting today and running through Saturday.

The Malvern, Pa.-based company will debut several new innovations that enhance the urological platform, Lithostar Modularis. The Lithostar Modularis Vario is a new product that allows the lithotripsy module to be paired with Siemens' C-arm technologies, including the Siremobil Iso-C, Iso-C(3D) and Compact or Compact L.

Siemens' Modularis urological platform can be equipped with the new Cplus shockwave system. The device is designed to provide greater efficiency in stone breakages, increased penetration depth of 140mm, a variable shockwave frequency (60/90/120) and a longer life of the shock head.

Additionally, Siemens will introduce the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) startup program utilizing chip card technology available for both lithotripsy models - the Lithostar Modularis and Lithostar Modularis Vario.
