Canadian medical device company ART Advanced Research Technologies highlighted findings from a recent study that showed that the company’s SoftScan can aid in the discrimination of malignant and healthy tissue in mammograms. The company gleaned data from tissue characterization from a multi-site clinical study used the company’s optical imaging device. In this study, lesions were identified on mammograms by a radiologist and characterized on their co-localized optical images through the SoftScan review workstation.
