ACR names Apgar EVP of its Center for Research and Innovation

Charles Apgar has been named executive vice presidents of the American College of Radiology (ACR)’s Center for Research and Innovation (CRI), according to an Oct. 8 release from the organization.

Courtesy of the American College of Radiology.Previously, Apgar held the role of chief operations director of the CRI. He has supervised numerous landmark clinical trials during his time, including the National Lung Screening Trial and the Digital Mammography Screening Trial (DMIST).

“Charles has been a central figure in the management and direction of large-scale radiology clinical research for more than a decade,” said William T. Thorwarth, MD, and CEO of the ACR, in the statement. “His expertise and experience has helped make the Center for Research and Innovation™ the force that it is. We look forward to many more years of his effective leadership as EVP.”
