Touchstone Medical Imaging has agreed to pay a $3 million fine to the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) to settle potential Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) rule violations stemming from a large breach exposing patient health information.

“Given that health care systems are limited in their financial resources, competing surveillance strategies should be analyzed for their cost-effectiveness," wrote Paulo Henrique Lima and colleagues, in an April 17 study published in the American Journal of Roentgenology.

Radiologists reported a yearly salary of $419,000, according to results of the Medscape Physician Compensation Report 2019. The figure is 4% higher than the specialties’ average salary in last year's Medscape report.
