Ambra Health announces new radiology and informatics podcast series

Cloud-based medical imaging vendor Ambra Health is launching a new podcast series focused on the latest issues and trends in radiology, the company announced Monday.

New episodes of “DICOM Dialogues” will be released each month and run 20 minutes. Listeners can tune in to hear imaging and informatics leaders discuss topics such as innovative workflows, improving patient care, increasing diversity in radiology departments, artificial intelligence and more.

"Trends that have been a long time coming in the healthcare industry including remote services, interoperability and AI have accelerated in the past year,” Catherine Slotnick, director of marketing and co-host of the new series, said in a statement. “Our aim with the DICOM Dialogues podcast is to create a space for early adopters at the forefront of these trends to share their stories of success and transformation to inspire others in our community.”

Ambra’s VP of Customer Success Chantel Hopper will join Slotnick in the recurring series, which is available on most platforms, including Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

The pair offered up a sneak peek of a few upcoming episodes.

  • Ryan Fallon, director of Medical Imaging IT at Johns Hopkins Health System, will discuss how to work remotely during the pandemic, sharing his team’s personal experience.
  • Matt Hyatt, manager of Image Exchange and VNA Solutions at UC San Diego Health, plans to discuss how an organization transitions from a traditional hardware system to enterprise imaging, sharing tips he learned along the way.
  • Slotnick and Hopper will take a look into how and why social media plays a key role in the “radiology ecosystem.”
