GE Medical Systems signs $23 million contract in Mexico
The Instituto Mexicano de Seguro Social has awarded GE Medical Systems (GEMS) a contract to install and service 80 new mammography systems.

 These systems are scheduled for installation by the end of this year. GEMS values the contract at $23 million contract for its digital mammography and conventional mammography systems. The sales and service will include the digital GE Senographe 2000D, as well as CADx Systems Inc.'s SecondLook computer-aided detection (CAD) software.

 GEMS' conventional mammography system -- the GE Alpha RT - also will provide a full range of screening and diagnostic exams.
