Kodak receives PACS order from Cedars-Sinai
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center of Los Angeles, Calif. has selected Eastman Kodak Health Imaging Group's DirectView PACS System 5.

After implementation, the PACS will manage most of the radiology department's 380,000 annual imaging exams. The new PACS will be integrated with the facility's RIS and RAID (redundant array of independent disks) storage systems, said Kodak.

Cedars-Sinai also purchased Kodak Enterprise Information Management (EIM) Services, which employs DirectView Versatile Intelligent Patient Archive (VIParchive) software to efficiently manage medical images and related information that reside on storage systems throughout a healthcare facility.

Kodak VIParchive software performs lifecycle management by automatically moving or copying studies from one storage system to another, according to user preferences. Data migration instructions can be changed at any time, and the system will make the necessary adjustments, Kodak said.
