Agfa HealthCare has won a multi-million Euro contract for implementation of its healthcare IT system, ORBIS, at the university hospital center (CHU) of Toulouse, France. The installation is scheduled to be concluded by 2011 and will affect some 10,000 users. The University Hospital Center of Toulouse, CHU, is one of the five largest hospitals in France and is a pilot site for the establishment of a cluster-based organization as determined in the new French Hospital Governance. CHU counts 2,845 beds divided over five sites and has a staff of about 10,000 and over 1,620 doctors. Some 165,000 in-patients and 600,000 outpatients are treated per year. 


Philips Medical Systems has delivered its iSite PACS service to the St Franciscus Hospital in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The operations of the system will be monitored and managed from the Philips iSite remote control center in San Francisco. 


The Hospital for Sick Children in Ontario, Canada, will install Vivalog's MyPACS Enterprise to manage medical case images, train residents, and assist doctors with decision support and clinical research.

Allscripts on Wednesday announced that pediatric physician network Children's Hospital Physician Associates (CHPA) has selected HealthMatics EHR from Allscripts subsidiary A4 Health Systems to connect and automate its14 practices. CHPA is a network of 50 primary care pediatric physicians and 38 residents in small group practices throughout Northeastern Ohio. 


Philips announced that its speech recognition technology, SpeechMagic, will be implemented by Spanish IT provider Indra in all radiology departments of Spain’s Castilla-La Mancha regional healthcare service (SESCAM). SpeechMagic will be installed first in the three hospitals of the cities of Cuenca, Albacete and Hellin, with the remaining hospitals to follow in 2007.


Eclipsys Corp. announced that The Methodist Hospital and Methodist Sugar Land Hospital have installed the Sunrise Clinical Manager at four related hospital campuses. The Methodist Hospital System is a non-profit healthcare organization based in Houston, Texas.
