Misys nets orders for clinical systems
Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) sites in Zion, Ill., and in Tulsa, Okla., are deploying radiology results from Misys Healthcare Systems' Radiology to Misys Insight so that physicians and caregivers can quickly receive clinical notifications of abnormal results.

Part of the Misys Optimum product family, Misys Insight integrates data from most hospital and clinical information system. It then sends clinical notifications via personal digital assistants (PDAs), pager, cell phone, e-mail or fax to physicians and clinicians. The tools now will be used concurrently with Misys Radiology information system (RIS) at select CTCA sites.

With the inclusion of radiology results, the full clinical alerting functionality of Misys Insight is now complete at CTCA's two facilities. Its electronic notifications of patients' Admissions Discharge Transmission(ADT) information, lab results, radiology orders and medication orders are sent to physicians, oncologists, nurses, diagnostic imaging personnel, clinical pharmacists, infection control practitioners, case managers and other clinicians throughout the CTCA network.

In related news, Casa Grande Regional Medical Center (CGRMC) in Casa Grande, Ariz., is implementing Misys PACS along with its Integration Module tool in order to interface with its Misys RIS installed two years ago at the hospital.

Misys' RIS/PACS package, deployed through a strategic alliance with eRad/Image Medical, will send images to physicians in both inpatient and outpatient centers using the Misys PACS Integration Module.
