Providence Health System has selected Elekta's radiation oncology and neurosurgical products for use at its 18 acute care facilities in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and California. The agreement is an exclusive, five-year provider contract.
   
Elekta's experience in image guidance and stereotactic applications in radiation treatment reaches back more than 30 years. The company's radiation oncology and stereotactic radiosurgery solutions are in use at 80 percent of acute care hospitals that providing radiation therapy, which has been accomplished in part through contracts with several of the nation's largest healthcare group purchasing organizations (GPOs), Elekta said.
