Radiology employee fired after using racial slur during argument

A radiology employee at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi, was fired after he was captured on video Aug. 11 using a racial slur at a local donut shop, WJTV 12 reported.

Kyle Thomas, a radiology technologist, became upset over service at a Donut Palace and got into an argument with Keaundrea Wardlaw, an employee at the shop. Wardlaw began recording the argument, and Thomas proceeded to use a racial slur. The video quickly went viral.

"We are aware of the confrontation captured on video involving one of our off duty employees at a local donut shop. We take this situation very seriously,” said a hospital spokesperson in an email to WJTV. “This employee's language and behavior does not represent our organization's values and his employment has been terminated.”

As of Aug. 13 WJTV has been working to reach Thomas.
