Senator and radiologist Mike Maroney charged with soliciting prostitution

State Sen. Mike Maroney of West Virginia has been charged with soliciting prostitution on Wednesday, Aug. 28. Maroney is a radiologist in the state, according to WOWK 13 News report.

A criminal complaint filed Tuesday, Aug. 27, said someone used Maroney’s phone to solicit a prostitute in May, citing text messages sent to a local woman, Courtnie Ann Clark.

Police used a search warrant served to AT&T to obtain information from the cell phone, which showed the owner of that number as “MM Radiology Associates.” Authorities also compared pictures Maroney allegedly sent to Clark to that on his driver’s license. They believed them to be a match, according to the report.

The news outlet reached out to Maroney’s office in Charleston, but did not receive a response.
