Swedish hospital goes filmless and paperless with Sectra
Healthcare IT company Sectra has been awarded a $1.1 million contract from Sweden's Alingsås Hospital to digitize its radiology services.

Alingsås will implement what Sectra tags its total digital imaging system, which includes the company's picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) and radiology information system (RIS).

The order was placed under Sectra's existing framework agreement with the region of Västra Götaland, Sweden. The digitization lays the groundwork for extended cooperation with the region's other radiology departments, Sectra said.

Alingsås Hospital already uses Sectra's RIS. When the new system is introduced in 2005, Sectra said the hospital's radiology activities will be completely paper- and film-free.
