UC-San Fran radiology department going all out with facility upgrade

Is Northern California becoming the most medical imaging-friendly region in the U.S.? The case could be made.

Last month, area leaders announced a push to draw many more people into imaging-technologist careers. Now comes word from UC-San Francisco of a massive modernization plan for one of its key imaging facilities.

“Upgraded imaging technology will increase the quality of medical care without compromising the design’s emphasis on the human experience,” the school reports in a June 12 blog post. “Combining upgraded imaging technology, improved diagnostic results and caring staff with a new soothing environment, this project seeks to be the embodiment of the University’s mission of caring, healing, teaching, and discovering.”
