C-RAD's Sentinel laser scanner system has been selected as the Elekta solution for optical surface tracking.

The Uppsala, Sweden-based C-RAD said its Sentinel laser-camera based system can be used for radiation therapy applications. By using laser surface scanning technology the need for implanted or surface-located reference markers is avoided.

The Stockholm, Sweden-based Elekta said its customers will be offered the technology for patient positioning and intra-fraction motion detection without the use of markers.
