IMPAC, Varian update Mosaiq to import cone-beam CT
IMPAC Medical Systems, an Elekta company, has introduced version 1.6 for its Mosaiq image-enabled oncology information system that will support OBI Advanced Imaging from Varian Medical System’s OBI workstation software.

Among support available with Mosaiq 1.6 is the ability to automatically import cone-beam CT (CBCT) images generated on Varian treatment machines, according to the companies.

The two companies worked to ensure IMPAC customers could take advantage of new Varian connectivity and benefit from the 3D distributed image review capabilities and decision-making tools a part of Mosaiq, according to Jay Hoey, president and CEO of the Chicago-based IMPAC.

Both companies worked with St. Mary Corwin Hospital in Pueblo, Colo., to coordinate the upgrade process.

The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based IMPAC said it is working with the Palo Alto, Calif.-based Varian to support the RapidArc product and plans to upgrade a mutual customer in late August.
