NASHVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 1, 2018—Change Healthcare today announced that it has been awarded a new Digital Imaging Network-PACS (DIN-PACS) IV contract by the United States Defense Logistics Agency. The DIN-PACS IV contract is a multiyear, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract with a combined five-year base period and one five-year option period.

The new regulatory clearance from the American Food and Drug Administration, FDA, concerns the SyMRI NEURO product package. Combined with FDA's clearance from August 2017, this means SyMRI as a whole can now be offered to clinics and hospitals on the US market.

Bracco Diagnostics Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Bracco Imaging S.p.A., one of the world's leading companies in the diagnostic imaging business, announced today that the labeling of its contrast agent MultiHance® has obtained FDA approval for an extension to include MRI of the CNS in pediatric patients younger than 2 years of age (including term neonates), to visualize lesions with abnormal blood-brain barrier or abnormal vascularity of the brain, spine, and associated tissues.

Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc., in partnership with Quality Electrodynamics (QED), installed a Vantage GalanTM 3T MR system at the new QED Research Center in Mayfield Village, Ohio. The system, QED’s first research resource, is being utilized to image volunteers in efforts to develop new MR technologies, such as the development and testing of radio frequency coils. The system will also be made available to local university-based researchers and other commercial organizations to test the compatibility and performance of their products in the MR environment.

Siemens Healthineers and Florida Hospital, part of Adventist Health System, have announced a multi-phase collaboration agreement to transform health care delivery through the development of outcomes-based collaborative projects. The long-term agreement leverages the imaging technology innovation and industry expertise of Siemens Healthineers as well as the integrated delivery network (IDN) of Florida Hospital and its ongoing investment in improving health care affordability, outcomes, and experience for their customers.

Cerveau Technologies Inc. today announced an agreement with the University of Pittsburgh to support multiple projects over the next several years. These research projects are for studies of an early stage imaging agent ([18F]MK-6240) to be used in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans for assessing the status and progression of neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) in the brain. NFTs made up of aggregated tau protein are a hallmark of several neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease.
