im3D to unveil CAD-based breast cancer detection method at ECR 2008
im3D – Medical Imaging Lab, a medical research center based in Torino, Italy, will present a diagnostic and theranostic prototype which applies CAD precision and accuracy to dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MRI results for the prevention and early detection of breast cancer at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) 2008 in Vienna.

CAD-Breast MRI can not only improve the specificity of DCE-MRI, but it automatically calculates and processes the diagnostic parameters used to identify and diagnose potential tumors in an objective, precise and consistent manner, according to im3D.

The new methodology utilizes a proprietary multi-stage segmentation algorithm developed by im3D specifically for breast MRI to accurately and efficiently detect suspected lesions.

The company said it will also showcase the latest version of its flagship CAD-Colon diagnostic workstation featuring enhanced PACS-compatible reporting capabilities during ECR.
