David Altounian will assume the new position of president and chief operating officer (COO) of the executive management team at Motion Computing.

Prior to joining the board of directors, Altounian focused on technology strategy and future products as chief technology officer, and before that oversaw both marketing and engineering functions. The company said he will assume responsibility for strengthening critical relationships with key technology and development partners as COO.

Scott Eckert will continue in his role as CEO, focusing on relationships with major customers in the U.S. and international markets, key strategic partners, media, analysts and the financial community, according to the Austin, Texas-based Motion.
