Katherine Ball, MD, has been named CMIO for Mountain States Health Alliance--a nonprofit healthcare organization in Johnson City, Tenn.--as well as chief medical officer for Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton, Tenn., and Johnson County Community Hospital in Mountain City, Tenn.

Ball, who has a master’s of healthcare informatics from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, previously served as CMIO at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Springs, Md. She also has held positions of clinical and administrative responsibility in clinical medicine for more than 10 years.

Her new position will be effective Nov. 8, according to MSHA.
