Ward bows out as prez of CV at Medtronic
Scott Ward, who has served Medtronic for nearly 30 years, most recently as senior vice president and president of the cardiovascular business unit, is leaving the company, according to the company’s spokesperson Joseph McGrath.

The position of the cardiovascular unit’s president is being “phased out,” McGrath said. The general managers (GM) within the unit—Sean Salmon, GM of coronary and periphery devices; Tony Semedo, GM of endovascular innovations, including aortic devices; and John Liddicoat, GM of structural heart—will be reporting directly to Mike Coyle, executive vice president of the newly formed cardiac and vascular business group.

During the transition, Ward will continue in his role as the chair of the Medtronic Foundation, and he will assist in the integration of recent acquisitions.
