Accreditation group launches program targeting health data
The Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC), a non-profit standards development organization and accrediting body, has introduced an accreditation program targeting health data processing and transactions, and compliance with industry-established standards and HIPAA regulations.

The new Healthcare Network Accreditation Program (HNAP-TPA) was designed exclusively for third-party administrators, companies that process claims and manage employee benefit plans for employers or other self-insured entities.

The accreditation process comprises an intensive self-assessment as well as an evaluation by an on-site EHNAC consultant, who reviews the candidate organization's operation first hand.

The Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) is a voluntary, self-governing standards development organization established to develop standard criteria and accredit organizations that electronically exchange healthcare data. These entities include electronic health networks, payors, financial services firms and e-prescribing solution providers.
