Agfa scores $24M grant from Canadian government
Agfa HealthCare has signed an agreement with the government of Ontario, Canada, for a governmental grant, worth CAD$29.6 million ($23.6 million U.S.), to support the growth of the company's research, development and regional operation centers in Toronto and Waterloo.

The grant will support a total of nearly $200 million ($159.9 million U.S.) investment by Agfa in its Ontario operations, creating 100 new positions and re-investing in 276 existing jobs. The 100 new jobs created at Agfa will include software development roles, general support services and back office functions. In total, the company said it will employ nearly 400 people in Ontario, focusing on the development, implementation and support of its eHealth, regional health and digital imaging solutions.
