Advanced radiology visualization developer Advanced Image Enhancement (AIE) said it has entered into a licensing agreement with Hologic, a Bedford, Mass.-based diagnostic and medical imaging systems vendor. Under terms of the deal, AIE will provide its image enhancement software for Hologic’s SecureView diagnostic mammography workstations.

The Providence, R.I.-based AIE said its proprietary image enhancement software, which leverages signal processing technology originally developed from Navy research to locate undersea mines, enables physicians to extract more information from medical images.
