McKesson is now the provider of central pharmacy robotic drug distribution systems to the St. Louis-based Amerinet, a national healthcare purchasing organization.

McKesson said that Amerinet’s members will now have access to bar-code based medication packaging systems.

Under the terms of the three-year agreement, Amerinet’s 2,100-member hospitals will have the option to purchase the Robot-Rx for the central pharmacy, which assists in preventing medication dispensing errors, according to the Alpharetta, Ga.-based McKesson.
