Aion Diagnostics, a molecular medical imaging developer, is expanding into new applications based on its modified porous silicon platform.
The Perth, Australia-based Aion said the new products target the pre-clinical small animal imaging sector, which incorporates optimized and miniaturized versions of human imaging systems for use in research settings.

The benefits of pre-clinical imaging include the capability to provide monitoring of drug efficacy in disease induced models, according to Aion.
