Boston Scientific will invest €50 million ($70.73 million) for a research and development (R&D) facility in Galway, Ireland.

In its Galway operation, the Natick, Mass.-based company has its largest manufacturing site in Ireland, employing more than 3,000 people.

The investment will further underpin both R&D and manufacturing at the Galway facility and broaden the capabilities of the R&D team responsible for new product development, which directly employs more than 200 people.
