BrainLAB shows advances in contouring workstations, dose planning
BrainLAB, a provider of image-guided surgery (IGS), stereotactic radiosurgery systems and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) systems, showcased its iPlan RT Image and Dose products at the 48th Annual American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) meeting in Philadelphia this week.

The iPlan Contouring Workstation provides tools for contouring and segmentation utilizing automated features and workflow guidance that enable physicians to define anatomical objects and treatment volumes in minutes. The workstation features DICOM RT connectivity for exporting objects to any dose planning system. The company’s iPlan RT Dose gives clinicians a flexible tool for defining a treatment plan that takes into account the full breadth of techniques available. The system enables stereotactic dose planning with conformal beam, dynamic conformal arc, IMRT, or a composite plan with more than one modality.

BrainLab also highlighted its iPlan Flow software for targeted medication delivery for brain tumor treatment which was cleared for marketing in the U.S. earlier this year.
