Carestreams PACS workstation aces face-off
The Kodak Carestream PACS workstation completed all clinical imaging exams within the allotted timeframe at the “Workstation Face-Off” that was part of Stanford University’s 9th Annual International Symposium on Multidetector-Row CT in San Francisco last week.

The face-off challenged providers of advanced 3D image processing technologies to process and interpret four complex CT imaging studies. The web-based Carestream PACS workstation used native volumetric processing, while many other vendors used dedicated 3D workstations. For one of the cases, the Carestream workstation enabled the reading radiologist to process a cardiac CT study with 2,760 images over a 4-megabit/second line in less than six minutes, thanks to new streaming technology and advanced cardiac features.
